Philosophy of Science Association

2018 Biennial Meeting

Seattle, Washington, November 1-3

Captured the Philosophy of Science Association ( last month. I had no idea that such an organization - or such a science specialty - existed.

MOST interesting to follow the discussions from dark matter and astrophysics to AI and the Tesla autopilot. The tradeoffs we take for granted - for example how should a car's autopilot prioritize between adult and infant human life in the event of an impending crash - are philosophical issues I had never considered.

I definitely recommend this biennial meeting for expanding one's science and engineering perspective!
