City of Redmond
Teen and 50+ Program Administrator
Nat Seymour has been a valued photography instructor for the City of Redmond since 2012. Nat has taught a variety of classes for us: adult photography, photo-processing, and a summer teen photography camp. In addition, the City of Redmond hired Nat to give classes to help our employees take better pictures on the job.
Nat’s instruction blends hands-on student work with slides to teach how different camera settings and photographic techniques affect images captured: concepts like depth of field and focus points are shown, and this is immediately followed-up with in-class exercises so that each student not only understands the principles, but demonstrates them using his or her own camera. Students learn from each other’s experiences through group workshops...
From the evaluations we have received, teens really liked the class Nat taught and the comments from the others were great with many thanks from our staff....
...Nat teaches as well as photographs and since 2013 he has been a teaching artist for me at MoPOP leading photography classes for teens and for teacher professional development. He shows a lot of energy and preparation for every class and his enthusiam for the subject is congageous.
Nat’s manner draws smiles from our staff, visitors, teachers and students. He works conscientiously with his audiences, with the public, and is able to get the best from his photography subjects without imposing on their activities. Nat is a consumate professional and partner for MoPOP....

Curator of Education and Interpretive Services
Nat offered a well-organized lesson plan matching insights from his previous tutoring/classroom sessions with a solid understanding of my needs. He was friendly, patient, and--most of all--helpful. Nat took time to listen to my description of my needs, reflect on what I said, and offer a compelling tutoring solution. I would highly recommend him!
